Editing

I have been involved in several projects as a scholarly editor. These efforts are described on pages that can be linked to from this page or from the Pages sidebar.

I currently edit an open access, peer-reviewed journal called Museum Anthropology Review. As of 2020, it is published by Indiana University Press with editorial offices in the IU Department of Folklore and Ethnomusicology.

I also edit a book series called Material Vernaculars, which is also published by Indiana University Press.

During 2013, I served as interim-editor of the Journal of Folklore Research. JFR is published by Indiana University Press in partnership with the IU Department of Folklore and Ethnomusicology.

Between 2005 and 2009, I edited Museum Anthropology, which is the journal of the Council for Museum Anthropology. It is published by the American Anthropological Association and Wiley-Blackwell.

I served as Associate Volume Editor for the Southeast volume of the Handbook of North American Indians, a project on which I collaborated between 1998 and the volume’s publication by the Smithsonian Institution in 2004.

In addition to these longer-term projects, I have edited a special issue of the journal The Florida Anthropologist, the 2012 book Yuchi Indian Histories Before the Removal Era, and the 2016 volume Material Vernaculars: Objects, Images, and Their Social Worlds.
