Skuomorphs on market day in Lihu town! These plastic trays and sifters attempt to preserve the appearance of their basketry counterparts while filling the same functions. While cheaper, we were told that they do not hold up as well as bamboo, especially when exposed to light. (A familiar problem also known to museum workers.) December 16, 2017.
